Add place IDs to make yourself and your courses even more visible on Google and Google Maps.

❗In order for your course to be listed on Google, at least 4 dates must be available for the next 30 days.
💡Please only add locations which are relevant to your course. The locations should be in the direct surroundings of your location or even be involved in your course. Please do not add random landmarks of your city! The locations should have a connection to your course so that Google considers your course as relevant and lists your offer.
What are place IDs, and where can I find them?
A place ID uniquely identifies a location in the Google Places database and in Google Maps.
These IDs can be easily found using a place ID finder. Simply enter the desired location in the search and copy the ID.
You can start with the place ID of your company and enter it in the account settings of your partner account.
- Log in to your partner account.
- Go to “Account setup” and the “Your brand” tab via the cogwheel at the top right.
- Copy the place ID of your company and paste it into the “Place ID of the business” field.
What are related places of interest?
Related places of interest are places that are related to your course or tour and are relevant to your potential customers in Google searches.
For example, if a potential customer googles a place in Berlin, booking options for various activities are shown in connection with this place (Google Things To Do). If this location is linked to your offer and Google considers your offer to be relevant, your course, for example, will be listed and can be booked directly via a link.
Examples of related places of interest:
- A well-known square or landmark that your scavenger hunt or city tour passes, e.g. the Brandenburg Gate or Potsdamer Platz.
- A restaurant or bar that is involved in your tour or course, e.g. on a dinner tour or wine tasting.
Advantages of this feature:
- You reach many people who make travel and activity-related searches on Google every day. Google is the most popular search engine, with more than 8.5 billion searches every day.
- Your courses can be highlighted via Google Things To Do ads, giving them even more visibility.
- Adding Related Places of interest will generate more backlinks to your course page, which will benefit SEO optimization.
In summary, this feature leads to increased reach → more visibility → more website visits → more ticket sales → higher turnover for you 🎉
How do I add new places of interest?
You will find the new feature in step 1 of course editing and can add the places relevant to your course there:
- Log in to your partner account.
- Go to “My Classes" via the left side menu and open the respective course via the “Edit” field.
- You will find the “Related Places of interest (Google SEO)” section in step 1 “Basic Information” below the address entry. Click on “Add a new Place”.
- Enter the name of the place in the “Name of the place” field.
- Open the Place ID Finder in a second link and enter the desired place in the search.
- Copy the place ID and paste it into the “Place ID” field in course editing.
- If you select a place for which admission is required, which is included in your course price, select Yes in the “Admission” field. For example:
- Visit to the Berlin Reichstag as part of a city tour. The price is included in the tour price → Admission “Yes”.
- Potsdamer Platz as a square that is part of your tour. There is no entrance fee for this → Admission “No”.
- Click on “Save & Continue” to apply your changes.
